American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation

Founded in 1985, the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation (AACVPR) is dedicated to the professional development of its members through networking and educational opportunities. AACVPR is comprised of all professionals who serve in the field of cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation and members include: cardiovascular physicians, exercise physiologists, cardiopulmonary physical therapists, pulmonary physicians, cardiac nurses, dieticians, and respiratory therapists.

Central to the mission is the improvement in the quality of life for patients and their families. The mission of AACVPR is: To reduce morbidity, mortality, and disability from cardiovascular and pulmonary diseases through education, prevention, rehabilitation, research, and aggressive disease management.

P.A.D.-Related Activities and Resources:

  • P.A.D. related programs at the AACVPR annual meeting.
  • Online and live distance learning continuing education resources on the medical management P.A.D. patients as well as other programs of relevance to cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation professionals.
  • AACVPR endorsement of the Joint P.A.D. guidelines to be published in 2006.
