The American College of Foot & Ankle Orthopedics & Medicine (ACFAOM) was incorporated in 1951 and its mission as a national organization of highly educated and trained podiatric physicians is to assure that primary podiatric medicine, broadly defined as orthopedics and medicine of the lower extremities, is the cornerstone of contemporary podiatric practice.
This includes the early detection of diabetes and the continuing care of diabetic foot complications through medical and biomechanical treatments.
Additionally the organization continues to promote education, research and advocacy throughout the profession. ACFAOM is committed to providing it members with the necessary resources that will continue to promote the highest standards in our profession and provide the public with excellent patient care.
